Looking for a recommendation for a freight handling company or other
intermediary who can help with the delivery a glider in its trailer at
the Port of Houston. It will be in a container off a ship in the
usual way, but I'm getting conflicting stories about how best to pick
it up. Post 9/11 security measures complicate things, I suppose.
Thanks.

I recently picked a glider trailer up in Long Beach. Only one hitch,
but that was the one I needed on the back of the car.
Suggest you contact Marlowe and Company for brokerage.

The last one I brought in at Houston was 6 years ago. At that time I
used Biehl & Co. Their tele. no. is 713 690 7200.
I had used them twice before that time with always good results.

I used R.W. Smith when I brought my glider in 4 yrs ago. We're using them
again this month to bring in a Grob.

Kevin,
About 18 months ago I used Acts. They've imported a lot of gliders and
know the process. I was happy with their service. I'm aware of at one
other glider they're currently handling, due to arrive in next few
weeks.
